  2. NO spectator or pit riding permitted (See Guidance & Policies for further details)

  3. Warm-up riding is limited to the start area (only after an official has granted the rider permission and the rider has registered for the event).

  4. Riders must not exceed 1st gear idle when traveling to and from their pit area and must always wear a helmet.

  5. Riders must register for the race before riding their machine anywhere.

  6. Riders will receive a transponder. The transponder must be placed on the underside of the visor.

  7. Riders are responsible for the actions of their entire pit crew, pets, children, and family members.

  8. Radios are permitted between pit crew members to communicate, but NOT with riders.

  9. Rider Contact: Deliberate ramming, blocking, or intentional contact with another rider will result in a penalty.

  10. Rider Conduct: Unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification. All participants must refrain from intentional physical contact, inappropriate or profane language, fraud, and unsportsmanlike behavior during any event, public appearance, media activity, or other situation related to the series. MOXC reserves the right to penalize participants for behaviors deemed inappropriate or unsportsmanlike, prejudicial or detrimental to the sport, or detracting from the enjoyment of fans, sponsors, or supporters. Penalties may include fines, docking of championship points, or both, and are not subject to protest or appeal.

  11. Team Tactics: Team tactics such as blocking, allowing another rider to pass, or exchanging machines to let another rider continue the race are strictly prohibited. Riders involved in this activity will be disqualified from the race and the next scheduled race.

  12. Riders will be disqualified for riding a course during the five days before the first day of the event unless the promoter has established a practice day or is working on preparing the course.

  13. Riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No exceptions!

  14. Parents or legal guardians are solely responsible for the machine choice of their child. Many ATVs are designed and intended for a specific age group. The MOXC and anyone connected with any events are in no way liable. Therefore, the guardian's decision to allow their child to ride an ATV of any size or orientation is solely the parent's or guardians' decision. MOXC does have the discretion to deny a minor riding a certain machine officials feel the machine is too large for the child to handle.

EVENT
SCHEDULE

RACES ARE ON SATURDAYS

CANCELLATIONS, POSTPONEMENT & RACE CONDITION MANAGMENT

  1. MOXC reserves the exclusive right to cancel or postpone any scheduled event. This authority allows MOXC to ensure the safety and quality of the events, taking into consideration factors such as weather, track conditions, and other unforeseen circumstances that might impact the safety and enjoyment of participants and spectators.

  2. In the event that race conditions become unfit during a scheduled event, MOXC is authorized to delay or halt the races. Unfit conditions can include but are not limited to extreme weather (such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, or high winds), hazardous track conditions, or any other situation that poses a risk to participants and attendees.

  3. Should it be necessary to delay or stop the racing due to unfit conditions, MOXC may alter the order of that weekend's scheduled events. This means that races or activities may be rescheduled to different times or rearranged to fit within the available safe time slots. The goal is to ensure that as many events as possible can still occur while prioritizing safety.

  4. If an event must be canceled or rescheduled and you have already entered the gate event, there will be no refund of the gate entry fee. This policy is in place to cover the costs incurred by MOXC in organizing and setting up the event, which is non-refundable regardless of whether the event proceeds as planned.

  5. In the case of a delay, every effort will be made to resume the schedule in a timely fashion if conditions significantly improve. MOXC is committed to providing a complete event experience, so if the adverse conditions clear up, the organization will quickly work to restart the event and ensure that as many scheduled activities and races as possible can proceed.

PITTING & PIT CREW MEMBERS

  1. Pitting, which involves stopping a race vehicle for refueling, repairs, tire changes, or other maintenance activities, is permitted only outside the designated banner area around the Finish Line. This restriction ensures that the area near the Finish Line remains clear and safe for racers to cross without obstruction, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring smooth race operations. It is highly recommended that each crew be equipped with at least one fire extinguisher in the case of a fire-related emergency.

  2. Each racer is fully responsible for the actions and behavior of their pit crew members. This accountability extends to all interactions and activities conducted by the pit crew, both in the pit area and throughout the event venue. The racer must ensure that their pit crew adheres to the event's rules and maintains a respectful demeanor at all times.

  3. Riders may receive repairs and mechanical assistance from anyone, anywhere along the course, as long as it does not interfere with other riders and is done in a suitable area off the racetrack. Assistants must walk to the rider and are not permitted to use any type of equipment to reach them.

  4. MOXC has a strict policy against any form of disrespect towards its staff members. This policy applies equally to both racers and their pit crews. MOXC staff members are essential to the smooth and safe operation of the event, and they must be treated with courtesy and respect.

  5. Any disrespectful behavior directed at MOXC staff by either a racer or a member of their pit crew will not be tolerated. If such behavior occurs, an MOXC Official will take action. These actions may include penalties for the racer, such as fines, disqualification from the event, or other disciplinary measures deemed appropriate by the MOXC officials. This policy ensures that the event maintains a professional and respectful atmosphere for all participants and staff.

MEDICAL INSURANCE POLICY

  1. It is the sole responsibility of each competitor to ensure they have adequate medical insurance coverage. MOXC does not provide any form of medical insurance for competitors participating in its events. This means that in the event of an injury, accident, or medical emergency, the competitor must rely on their own insurance policy to cover any medical expenses incurred.

  2. MOXC does not offer medical insurance coverage for participants or spectators at its events. The organization focuses on organizing and running the events and does not have the capacity or resources to provide medical insurance. This policy is standard in many sporting and recreational events, where participants are expected to have their own insurance.

  3. MOXC strongly encourages all competitors and spectators to have medical insurance. Participating in or attending racing events can pose inherent risks, and having medical insurance ensures that individuals are financially protected in case of an injury or medical emergency. This recommendation is made to safeguard the well-being and financial security of everyone involved.

  4. Medical insurance is crucial because it provides coverage for medical expenses that may arise from accidents or injuries sustained during the event. This can include costs for emergency medical treatment, hospitalization, surgery, rehabilitation, and other healthcare services. Without insurance, these expenses can be significant and potentially burdensome.

  5. If a rider leaves the course for any reason, they must re-enter the course where they exited it.

  6. Riders must remain on the marked course, which is within 20 feet of race arrows. Any time double-stacked arrows are posted on both sides of the trail, riders must stay between the arrows; disregarding this rule may result in a position penalty. Going past 20 feet and making a pass on a racer may result in a 2-position penalty. Markers may also include any device placed along the trail to help guide riders, including but not limited to ribbons, signs, stakes, hay bales, barrels, and tires.

  7. Riders encountering a traffic jam or bottleneck may go no more than 20 feet off the course to get around the bottleneck only. However, the rider must re-enter the course as soon as possible. Upon approaching this section, the next lap must ride the original arrowed section if the track is clear. The rider must stay on the original marked course if the original marking devices are knocked down. A “bottleneck” is a section of the track that becomes impassable for any reason.

START PROCEDURE

  1. Starting procedures will be explained at the Riders Meeting.

  2. No riders, pit crew members, machines, or equipment will be allowed on the starting line prior to the Riders Meeting.

  3. All riders must line up in their assigned starting rows on a first come basis before the Riders Meeting. All Riders are responsible for starting on their assigned row. Any rider taking off with the wrong row will be penalized or disqualified.

  4. ATV riders are required to start the event with their tether cord properly affixed and they will be checked at the starting line. All starts are dead-engine starts (except Mini ATVs).

  5. The referee will wave a blue flag above their head and signal all riders to turn off their engines.

  6. Shortly after the blue flag is thrown the green flag will be thrown, signaling the start of the race.

  7. Riders who start their machines prior to the green flag signal or take off with the wrong row will be penalized. All referee decisions are final.

  8. Any rider that misses the start of their class must enter the race course at the starting line and complete the start chute.

  9. Pit crew members are prohibited from pushing offs. Riders must take off on their own power unless the machine fails to start. Then, a push-off to get the machine fired up is allowed.

  10. If a rider jumps the start before the flag is thrown, they will be held 30 seconds the first time through the scoring point at the finish line.

SCORING

  1. The Finish Line area is a no-passing or race zone and will be marked. Racers that race/pass in this zone will be penalized.

  2. Riders must slow down to an idle speed when crossing through scoring.

  3. A rider will be DISQUALIFIED for running into an official.

  4. Awards are guaranteed for the top 3 finishers in each class.

  5. Racers have 20 minutes to finish the race after the overall winner takes the checkered flag.

  6. Riders may receive mechanical assistance on the course from their pit crew or spectators but must finish the race under the machine's own power or with the rider's physical energy alone.

  7. No towing allowed. If a machine is towed in from the course, that lap will not count.

  8. A rider may question the scores within the 30-minute protest period following the posting of the final results. After 30 minutes, awards will be given out. At this time, all results are considered final. NO MOXC STAFF WILL ENTERTAIN A SCORING PROTEST AFTER THE PROTEST PERIOD IS OVER!

  9. Penalties will be assessed at the official's discretion based on the offense's severity and may include one or more of the following: one or more positions, one or more laps, a time penalty, or disqualification. The referee has the final decision in all aspects of the events.

RACE FINISHES

  1. The race officially concludes for all participants upon the completion of the lap in which the checkered flag is shown to the overall winner.

  2. To be credited with completing a lap, the rider and their machine must cross the plane of the checkered flag through the rider’s own unaided effort. Towing is prohibited. If a machine is towed from the course, the rider’s race is over. However, this rule does not apply if a MOXC staff member tows a rider a short distance to free a vehicle from a track obstacle, such as a mud pit, deep rut, or ravine.

  3. Riders are scored based on their order of finish and the number of laps completed. Completing all laps is not required to be scored.

  4. Racers have 30 minutes to finish the race after the overall winner takes the checkered flag. If MOXC staff directs you to leave the track after this time, please comply as the race is officially over. Riders may question the results within the 30-minute window following the posting of the final results. After 30 minutes, awards will be distributed, and the results will be final.

  5. Awards are given to the top 3 finishers in each class. Additional awards and plaques may be given out on a case-by-case basis.

  6. Burnouts, jumping, or riding your machine aggressively after the race has concluded are prohibited. Violation of this provision will result in a penalty, including a fine and/or disqualification.

  7. Penalties are assessed at the official's discretion based on the severity of the offense and can include adjustments to positions, laps, or time, and/or disqualification, suspension, loss of championship points, or probation.

PROTESTS

  1. There are three types of protests:

    1. Visual protests related to ATVs and components where compliance or noncompliance can be confirmed visually.

    2. Technical protests relate to ATVs and components where some type of measuring device or teardown procedure is needed to confirm compliance or noncompliance with the rules.

    3. All other protests will be defined as administrative.

  2. Unless expressly excluded herein, riders may lodge protests regarding any matter related to an event in which they participated. Such issues may include, but are not limited to, the conformity of a machine or the eligibility of a rider.

  3. Each protest must be made separately, in writing, and signed by the protesting rider. It must specify the alleged violation of MOXC rules or procedures and be accompanied by the appropriate filing fee.

  4. For each protest, $100 per item or component that is protested.

  5. In addition to the protest fee(s), the following teardown fees will apply for a technical protest requiring measurement or teardown of an engine:

    1. 2-stroke: $200

    2. 4-stroke: $500

  6. An additional $200 is required to measure any engine that must be removed from the frame for inspection.

  7. The referee (or his designee) must accept any protest that is filed correctly within the specified time limit and accompanied by the appropriate fee. The referee will not accept any protest that is not filed correctly and accompanied by the required fee.

  8. All protests must be filed within 30 minutes of the event's results being posted.

  9. The meeting referee will determine a protest's timeliness, and the decision will be final for all concerned.

  10. The referee will render decisions on all protests as soon as possible. If it is not possible to render an immediate decision, the referee may allow a protested rider or machine to compete under protest. In such cases, payment of all affected points and awards will be withheld pending a decision on the protest.

  11. When a protest involves piston displacement or any other internal engine modification, the referee must call for an engine measurement or inspection after the meeting. The protesting party must be present during the inspection, be entitled to witness the teardown and be informed of all measurements.

  12. The referee is empowered to levy appropriate penalties shown herein as the result of a protest and subsequent investigation.

  13. Once made, a protest cannot be withdrawn without the permission of the referee.

  14. Any legitimate expense to which the referee may be subject as a result of a protest must be paid by the protesting party, and the referee may require a deposit sufficient to cover such expenses. If the protest is upheld, however, the protested party must reimburse such costs.

  15. If a protest is decided in favor of the protesting party, the referee will refund the protest fee and forward a written report to the MOXC staff.

  16. If a protest is decided in favor of the protested party:

    1. In a protest not involving teardown fees, the referee will forward the protest fee along with a written report to MOXC officials.

    2. In a protest involving teardown fees, the referee will forward the protest fee to the MOXC along with a written report, and the protested party will be entitled to the teardown fees.

  17. The referee may call for the inspection of any machine or component at any time.

  18. Protests lodged at any event where MOXC points are paid and not resolved at the event shall be submitted to MOXC within 72 hours of said event. In addition, the referee shall call and mail the denial of protest to the protestor and submit protest funds along with a copy of the original protest to MOXC within the same time period.

  19. All riders are subject to protest and must be available for inspection at all MOXC events. If the rider in protest is not available for inspection, an official may classify the rider as ineligible for the race in question, and no points will be awarded.

POINTS

  1. To receive points, riders must complete 50% of the laps completed by the class leader. Participating in a race still counts as attendance.

  2. The top 3 riders in a class will be given end-of-the-year awards.

  3. Participating in race attendance up to 50% will first determine points standings. After riders have reached 50%, points will take over. If the attendance of “Rider D” is below 50% of the number of races that were held for the year, “Rider D” will not be placed higher than “Rider C” who has participated in more races, even if “Rider D” has more points. If two riders have at least 50% participation, then points will take over and determine placement.

    1. Below is an example (Based on 8 Total Races)

      1. Rider A raced 6 out of 8 races and has 90 points

      2. Rider B raced 4 out of 8 races and has 75 points

      3. Rider C raced 5 out of 8 races and has 70 points

      4. Rider D raced 3 out of 8 races and has 75 points

  4. The most first-place finishes will break ties for the overall and class championships, followed by the most second-place finishes, and so on.

RIDER ADVANCEMENT

  1. Any B or C rider that wins their class must move up to the next class at the start of the following year.

  2. The 2nd and 3rd place class finishers are asked to write a letter to the MOXC staff explaining why they want to stay in the class from the previous year or move to the next class as well.

  3. The top 2 finishers of C-Class must advance to B-class.

  4. A rider may change classes after the season has started. The rider will keep their class points and award eligibility in their previous class, but those points will not be transferred to their new class.

  5. For any class with five or fewer racers who have competed in six or more races, only the first-place racer is required to advance, provided they have achieved three or more first-place finishes.
